In Japan urban heat island effect is more serious than other countries. The report focuses on analysis and discussion of urban heat island effect in Japan especially in large cities in Tokyo and Osaka. Urban heat island effects have affected people’s health and welfare as well as eco-systems in Japan therefore the government is issuing policies and implementing systematic approaches to mitigate urban heat island effects hoping that these measures would significantly mitigate urban heat island effects in Japan.
